Trimwel Monthly Newsletter – February 2026
Welcome to our first Trimwel Monthly Newsletter
We’re pleased to share the very first edition of the Trimwel Monthly Newsletter for February 2026.
Each month, we’ll be sharing practical knowledge from across the team, along with Tips of the Trade, product highlights, training updates, and news from the wider sign and print industry. The aim is simple, to pass on useful, real world insight that helps you do your job better.
Are you looking to build real, practical sign making skills?
We’re hosting our Sign Training Course at Trimwel HQ, a hands on programme designed to give you proper experience with the tools and materials used in the trade.
This course is taught by an industry leading professional and focuses on practical learning rather than theory alone. Across three sessions, you’ll work directly with printers, laminators, and plotters, while learning how to apply and mount self adhesive vinyls and confidently use everyday fixing methods and tools.
If you’re new to sign making or looking to sharpen your existing skills, this course is designed to give you experience you can take straight back to site.
Spaces are limited. If you’d like more information or want to register your interest, please get in touch with the Trimwel team.
Tip of the Trade: Material Matters
Permanent vs temporary vinyl, choosing the right material for the job
One of the most common questions we hear is when to use permanent vinyl and when temporary vinyl is the better option.
Temporary vinyl is ideal for short term applications such as promotions, seasonal signage, or temporary window graphics. It removes cleanly and is designed for easy installation and removal without leaving residue.
Permanent vinyl, on the other hand, is built for longevity. It offers stronger adhesion, better durability, and resistance to environmental factors such as UV exposure and weathering.
A great choice for longer term applications is Metamark MD5, a high performance grade polymeric calendered self-adhesive vinyl suitable for vehicle graphics, retail signage and window graphics. It delivers consistent performance and excellent print quality across a range of inks.
For removable work like promotional window graphics, consider Metamark MD5-RC, a clear gloss digital print media with a removable adhesive that allows clean removal when needed.
Choosing the right vinyl from the start saves time, reduces rework, and delivers a better finished result for your customer.
Customer work spotlight: ML Designs
In this month's spotlight, we’re featuring a brilliant job from Marty at ML Designs.

This racing bike was created for Corran Smyth and sponsored by the Royal Air Force. The graphics were printed on Metamark MD-i-AB and laminated with MG-i-005 Gloss.
“I switched to MD-i-AB a couple of years ago and it's my go-to for all vehicle graphics which don't require cast. The material prints well and, with the Metascape adhesive, is easily applied.”
Thanks to Marty for sharing this fantastic work. If you’d like your own project featured in a future newsletter, just speak to a member of the Trimwel team or look out for our next call for submissions.
We’ll be introducing a regular customer spotlight section where we share real jobs completed using Trimwel supplied materials.
